Nettle Tea
Young nettle shoots are now beginning to sprout new growth and they are a good source of iron, calcium and folic acid.
Ingredients:
Nettles (only the youngest leaves)
Sugar
Sliced Lemon
Recipe:
Pick some nettles (carefully and with gloves!) 10-20 leaves per brew
Wash the nettles with cold water
Add your nettles to a saucepan and add boiling water to just cover
Simmer until the water is green
Remove the nettles and serve with sugar and a slice of lemon
The nettle tea will change colour when you add the lemon as its colour depends on the PH and acidity of the water used. When the lemon is added it will change from green to pink!
