Kate Christie - Cowes based Marine Artist

Kate has had a home in Cowes for many years but only came to live there permanently three years ago. With extreme good fortune her studio looks out over the Solent where she can capture the changing moods, seasons and weather first hand.
Kate’s paintings portray the sea and the “noise” of sailing with a degree of abstract expressionism which gives them movement. Her work is with oil paints on canvas, rarely using a brush, preferring a palette knife to apply the paint which giving the work a textural nature.
