Quirky Cakes . . . deliciously unique

Quirky Cakes was started by Tess Barlow whose experience ranges from Head Chef at an Arts Centre to preparing a Royal Buffet. My cakes have been featured in the BBC’s Olive Magazine and I have recently been described as the ‘Heston Blumenthal’ of all things bakery!

Quirky Cakes offers individual gift cakes. These are 4 Star rich fruit cakes where the fruit has been pre-soaked in brandy. The cakes are then iced with regal ice and decorated to your choice. Packaged in an acetate box and sent with a hand written personal message card onto its destination. A range of decorations can be found on my website…www.quirky-cakes.co.uk. I welcome individual orders or am happy to discus corporate orders. I can download company images and personalise each cake to your requirements.

If you are visiting the Island you can buy my other cakes at the Vectis Food & Craft Market on Friday mornings at St.Thomas’s Square from 9am – 2pm. Based on the carrot cake recipe, my vegetable cakes have been an instant hit. They range from butternut squash & coconut, sweet potato & chocolate fudge, parsnip & pecan, beetroot & brazil nut and of course carrot. Available in 1Ib loaves and 8" rounds the only problem you’ll have is which one to taste first.

All cakes can be made suitable for celiacs.
